The method of microblading is easy. The time of effect for the pigment depends upon the skin type, skin condition and skincare routine. If one wants to keep the effect for a long time, one needs to get the proper care. Also, it depends upon how often one goes for touch-ups. The cost of microblading depends upon the area one is living in as well as the experience of technicians. Microblading is the method performed in a sterile location with a safe setting by an experienced and certified technician. It can be expensive and not covered under medical insurance.

The effect of microblading lasts for one year to 3 years, depending upon the care and touch-ups needed in between. A touch-up session after 4-6 weeks is necessary as everyone heals differently and the outcome will vary. Certain areas may not pick up during the first session and will need to be refilled. Pigment colour may need to be adjusted, brow thickness and more strokes can be added. Individuals with oily skin often require a deeper shade during the touch-up session as the oils tend to lighten the pigment. Most importantly, your touch up session is when we refine your brows to ensure it looks perfect and retains the colour for the whole year. Once the pigments start fading, one needs to go back to the technician for touch-ups. The touch-ups are important and done every six months or a year. It depends upon the skin types, pigments used and the preferred look. The microblading touch-ups are similar to the rt touch-ups that one gets for hair. When the microblading starts fading, one can simply go for touch-ups to get back the look and colour. But if one waits for a longer time than suggested by the technician, they need to go for the procedure over again from the start.

During this session, the brow technician will shape and style the client’s brows for client approval. We then follow with pigment colour selection. Once the client is satisfied with the choices, we begin the procedure. The client is to come in for a follow-up visit to have any necessary touch-ups. The second Microblading session takes place 4-6 weeks after the initial session. This session will take approximately 1- 1.5 hours to complete.

The Microblading tool makes the noise of scratches rather than a buzz of the tattoo gun that penetrates deeply into the skin. Microblading is also known as feathering or micro-stroking. Also, the pigments of microblading fade with time but do not smear off. The aim is to give a well-defined brow with a natural look. The method has been around in Asia for more than 25 years. It is also gaining popularity in the United States, Europe, and Australia. The surge in popularity is because of the benefits of the method with its effect that stays for more than a month.  

The eyebrow area will be slightly red after the procedure and the colour will appear very dark. This is normal for the procedure and part of the healing process. The colour will fade by up to 40%-50% as it heals. In the following days, the eyebrows will continue to be dark and you will notice slight scabbing. Do not pick at the scabs as this may damage the skin and the outcome of the microblade area. The eyebrows will lighten up in colour as it heals. No downtime is required after the microblading procedure. It takes approximately 7-14 days for the brows to heal over, and about 1 month for the colour to fully set in. You’ll notice the colour is very light right after the two weeks after healing; the skin will have an opaque milky looking quality to it. This is known as milk skin and is common in tattooing. This is due to the tissue still healing from the inside out even though the surface of the skin is healed. True colour will reveal itself once healed.
